Brian decided to help me look through Madison’s toy bag and books. He jumped up suddenly and brought back a Ziploc baggie. As he held every toy, he slowly turned them over and over, gently pulling the longer hairs off of them and placing them in the baggie. I can’t tell you what it felt like to watch Maddie’s daddy lovingly gather his baby girl’s hair because we didn’t think to ask for a lock of hair to keep as a reminder. He was and is such a good daddy and he loved her so much. These are the kinds of heartbreaking memories that I’ll never forget.
